Ilyse graduated from SUNY Albany in 1990, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a business minor. She worked in television production for a few years before deciding to return to school to be a Physical Therapist. Ilyse graduated from Touro College School of Health Sciences, summa cum laude, in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a Master of Arts in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, Ilyse worked as a staff physical therapist at Southside Health Institute. In addition to treating a variety of orthopedic, cervical, lumbar, TMJ, and extremity diagnoses, she became certified as a “return to work” examiner who physically tested trucking employees for lifting and fitness. At Southside she also taught “Back Classes” to instruct patients with back injuries on numerous activities of daily living. In 2001 Ilyse began her Bright Bay PT career where she continues to work as a physical therapist to date. Ilyse prides herself on her manual therapy skills. She has taken numerous continuing education courses on topics ranging from evaluating and treating orthopedic injuries, to kinesiotaping, to Pilates and Tai Chi in a PT rehab setting. She is an adjunct professor for Massage in the doctorate PT program at NYIT where she has also worked as a lab assistant for Manual Therapy I and II. In addition, Ilyse currently works in the doctorate PT program at Touro College School of Health Sciences as a lab assistant for Kinesiology, Massage, and Introduction to Interventions. She has expanded her career opportunities in home care physical therapy positions as well, and uses her many orthopedic skills as a wife and mother of three athletes. Ilyse loves spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite hobby is watching her boys play volleyball, lacrosse and baseball. She is very active in her school district’s PTA and notes the importance of being present as a mom to two teenagers. Ilyse loves her career and is so happy to work in a caring, patient centered clinic such as Bright Bay PT
