Joseph is a certified & licensed Athletic Trainer with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. ATC’s specialize in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes of all ages and abilities. They play a vital role in enhancing an athlete’s performance and work closely with team physicians, athletic directors and coaches to ensure that athletes compete at their highest potential and avoid injury. Working on the sidelines as well as in our clinical setting, the goal of athletic training is to return the athlete to his/her sport of choice as quickly as possible. He obtained his BS/MS in Exercise Science from SUNY Buffalo in 2005 after successful completion of an accelerated dual degree program. As an NATA member in good standing since 2003, Joseph maintains his CPR/AED certifications through the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider course. Joseph currently splits his time at work between BBPT and Bay Shore High School. While at BBPT he is involved with many of our programs. Including our athletic training services, post concussive (RTP) return to play, post fitness rehabilitation program and finally our interval throwing program. He has worked as the Athletic Trainer for Bay Shore High School since August 2011. Joseph has over 11 years of experience in the high school and outpatient PT settings. He also spent 5 summers traveling as the Head ATC for the Long Island Rough Riders semi-professional soccer team and a year as the Head ATC for the Long Island Lizards professional lacrosse team. Joseph has also worked extensively with the Hofstra Men’s & Women’s Rugby teams, covering many games for each team. When time allows, Joseph provides first aid/athletic training services for various camps, clinics, and Section XI events throughout Long Island. Joseph resides in Farmingdale where he played baseball and basketball growing up. He eventually became an umpire and referee for these sports.   He was a 4 year varsity wrestler in High School and spent a few years coaching youth wrestling. Joseph is still passionate about the sport and has been working as a NYS Certified Wrestling Assessor since 2008.
